About the event
IMPROV SCENEWORK aims to enhance an improv player’s abilities to perform made-up-on-the-spot scenes for audiences. Creation of exciting never-before-seen scenes that flow from the ABCs of scenes: activities that establish environment; actions that reveal relationship between characters; and, coming up with why the scene is happening and important. Improv Scenework is in person, Sundays, February 1 – March 22, 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

Since learning improv, Murphy has stayed true to the instruction she received from Charna Halpern in Charlottetown and Chicago, and through Halpern’s Truth in Comedy improv manual, co-written and Del Close. Murphy has also learned her improv craft from fellow players and ensembles on PEI and across Canada, and from top instructors, such as Lisa Merchant, Brian Smith, Ralph MacLeod, and Gary Vermier.
