About the event
August 7 - The Ceilidh at Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Road will feature popular island music group Tip 'er Back with Clive Currie, Allan Betts, Wade Murray with singer Darlene Bradley. Courtney Hogan-Chandler will be the guest fiddler. Havenwood Dancers will be the step dancers for the evening.
The group plays a mix of maritime favourites, traditional Gaelic, country, and also some original music. Betts, Currie and Murray were members of Kickin’ Country, the popular dance band that played at many dance halls on P.E.I.
Allan Betts is a singer, songwriter. Who has penned several songs including the song “and I Owe Life to You”, sung by many musicians, including PEI’s own Dino Dunsford. Clive Currie yodels and he is very good at it. We hope to convince him to give us a tune with yodeling in it during the evening. Wade Murray plays Bass and Darlene Bradley complements the singing.
