To celebrate the BIS 200 year anniversary the Benevolent Irish Society (BIS) has created this special Historic Eastern Irish Self-Driving Tour of PEI.

About the event
To celebrate the BIS 200 year anniversary the Benevolent Irish Society (BIS) has created this special Historic Eastern Irish Self-Driving Tour of PEI. The spectacular brochure that accompanies the tour features many buildings and sites that were important to Irish Immigrants in the time when PEI was starting to be settled. The tour starts at the Benevolent Irish Society ( to pick up brochures) and it it takes 3 - 5 hours to complete depending on how often you want to stop. Sites include:
St. Patrick's Ancestral Graveyard in FT. Augustus.
Longworth Avenue Roman Catholic Cemetery (where Edward Whelan and the Lady Constable Famine Ship Irish are busied)
Orwell Corner Historic Village
Souris Showhall (St. Patricks Hall built in 1914)
